Let's grow togetheR.

At CCO, our motto is “Becoming more like Jesus by learning and living God’s Word.” This is exactly the goal of our Discipleship Program.

Key ComponentS:

Weekly Connection

During the 8 weeks of the program, it is very important to be here for each meeting, and to intentionally connect with others in the group. Each table group is encouraged to set up a group text chat to check•in, share prayer requests and praise reports and ask questions. The goal is that beyond just sharing an hour or two around a table with other believers, that we would share LIFE with each other.
Acts 2:42–42 • And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

daily devotions

One of the key marks of a disciple is that they spent time every day with their rabbi. A disciple would never consider just being with the rabbi once or twice a week. For the 8 weeks of the program, commit to spending time daily in prayer, Scripture reading and quiet time with God. Complete the Scripture reading assigned for each day. Take a few minutes each day to pray. Things come up, you may miss a day or two. Don’t get discouraged, pick it back up and start again. As the daily rhythm of spending time with God takes root in your life, you will notice a huge difference in your walk with the Lord.
Mark 1:35–35 • Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

weekly reading & study

Engaging fully in the teaching of each session, and reviewing it in order to apply to your life will bring the biggest dividends. There will also be assigned reading each week to be completed. Those who put the most into this aspect of the program, will get the most out of it. The assigned reading shouldn’t take more than an hour per week.
Proverbs 23:12–12 • Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to words of knowledge.

weekly SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSES

As part of the program, you are expected to memorize a verse or verses of Scripture each week. Storing God’s Word up in your heart and mind helps you to stand against sin, and to become more like Jesus.
Psalm 119:11 • Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

attendance expectation:

  • The CCO Discipleship Program is designed to be relational. That relational aspect of the program happens largely around your table each week. Consequently, attendance is very important.
  • Please make every effort to attend each of the eight weeks of the program.
    • If you are unable to attend a week or two due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, a video link of the week’s teaching and a copy of the teaching notes will be emailed out to you.
    • Please watch the teaching and complete the notes prior to the next week.
    • If you must miss more than 2 weeks of the program, you will need to take it again in a future session in order to receive your certificate of completion and approval to advance to the next level of the program.
