lance ralston

pastor: teaching & preaching

Lance and Lynn, his wife of forty years, have three children, four grandchildren, and have lived in Oxnard for all but their first year. They began Calvary Chapel Oxnard thirty-eight years ago, meeting in a park in the Southern California coastal city of Port Hueneme with a dozen people. Today, the church has 1,200 adults each Sunday. CCO’s outreach to the community includes a private Christian high school and a 24-hour low-power FM radio station, 101.5 FM, KOCC.

The ministry of CCO is centered on expository teaching of the Scriptures, verse by verse, book by book, through the entire Bible.

Pastor Lance is the author of one book, Marriage: As It Was Meant To Be. He authors the popular podcast "Communio Sanctorum: History of the Christian Church" (www.sanctorum.us). He holds a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies and Ministry from Channel Islands Bible College & Seminary.                                                                                      
Lance enjoys backpacking, wood-working, working out, gardening, home improvement projects, reading, and graphic design.

John Parra

pastor: spanish ministry

Pastor John’s aim is to simply teach the Word of God and strive to Magnify the Name of Jesus. He loves the verse by verse teaching at Calvary and attended since 1999.

John loves to run and fish the warm waters of Baja California. He’s the husband of Laura and father of Jessica, Saraí and Jonathan.

eric robbins

pastor: administration

Pastor Eric oversees the Administration, or "Provision" department at CCO, managing facilities, finances, and the other critical "behind the scenes" aspects of the ministry.

Eric also serves as our Mission Pastor, raising up and equipping new short and long term missionaries from our congregation, as well as supporting those already on the field.

Eric's desire for the people of CCO is, “that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:2-3). Eric believes this is happening in remarkable ways and he’s excited about that.
Eric and his wife, have attended CCO for many years, and apart from a one year mission in Thailand, fighting human trafficking, Eric has been on staff since 1997. He has one son.

rob branchflower

pastor: pastoral care

Pastor Rob oversees the Pastoral Ministries Department, directing the various ministries that oversee spiritual growth and care. These ministries include Groups, pastoral care and counseling, benevolence, our Discipleship Program, as well as pastoral services such as weddings, Water Baptism and memorial services.

Rob preaches and teaches regularly at our church gatherings. He is also one of our regular worship leaders, having served as the CCO Worship Pastor from 2013–2020.

Rob and his wife Corey have 4 adult children and are raising one child still at home. They live here in Oxnard and love living, working, and serving here in this community.

Jeff Atchison

pastor: services

Pastor Jeff heads up the Services Department, overseeing all the parts that come together for church service gatherings, such as worship, ushers, sound, light, and video tech. Pastor Jeff is also serves frequently preaching and teaching at CCO church gatherings.

Jeff has been at CCO since 2000, when he came on board as youth pastor. Jeff has worn many hats around CCO over the years: remote campus pastor, worship ministry, counseling, website, audio and lighting tech, recording music, bus ministry, and has authored several books (Pit to Palace & Marriage and the Gospel).

Jeff, and his wife Geneva, have three children. Their home is a flurry of homeschool activities, such as class work, Bible study, arts and crafts, Legos, learning keyboard and guitar, dance, computer work (and play), exercise, making messes and learning to work together as a team.

Sharon Johnson

minister: Family ministries

Sharon, our Families Minister, oversees the the various ministries that raise up the next generation at CCO: Children, High School, and Junior High. She also oversees the big events that happen on occasion at CCO, such as conferences and church retreats.

She has attended CCO for 24 years. She says, “I like that we are serious about studying God’s Word and putting it into practical living. That way, others will know us by our love.”

She and her husband, Dennis enjoy working on projects together. They seem to always be laughing about something. Sharon loves spending time with her family and friends, quiet mornings, drinking chai tea lattes, eating out and experiencing new adventures.

Bernadette Borcena

children's ministry director

Bernadette leads our Children's Ministry. She loves working in the Children's Ministry planning events, training volunteers, leading worship and overall seeing the children learning and living God's word.

She counts it a privilege to have served in almost all areas of CCOs Children's Ministry for about 10 years, most of which is in Children's Worship with her husband, Dante.

She enjoys exploring new places to eat, movie nights with her family, and fiddling with art projects.

Clarivel Dinh

minister: Junior High

Clarivel has been on-staff since 2010. She has been involved in several ministries over the years, but currently serves the CCO community as our Junior High Youth Minister. She is also teaming up with Pastor Rob in overseeing our Small Groups ministry. Clarivel is also one of CCO's worship leaders on Sunday mornings.

Clarivel is wife to Tuan, and mom to Shepherd-Lewis (their son) and Swaggy P (their puppy). She enjoys books, podcasts, and powerlifting.

jordan young

pastor: worship & high school

Pastor Jordan currently oversees two ministries at CCO: Worship and High School ("HSM"). He is passionate about leading our congregation to Jesus in worship, and loves equipping and organizing CCO's musicians into great teams. His hopes for our High School students is that they will be truly connected with Jesus and his Church and continue to be a part of the Church after they graduate.

Jordan has attended CCO since 2009 and enjoys being involved with many different people who call CCO their home. You will find him in his office with a cup of coffee and his special lighting on the weekdays.

Jordan is married to Sydney, who also serves in worship and HSM ministry alongside Jordan. 

sandon yahn

video ministry

The video ministry is responsible for recording the Sunday and Wednesday teachings and uploading them to our vid-cast internet site. His other duties include producing announcement videos for church activities, then “documenting” those activities via video.

Sandon has attended CCO since 2002. He says, “What I love about is the style of teaching. It keeps God’s Word in context.”

Sandon says his calling has always been to be a storyteller. He sees making movies as the way to fulfill that call.

Sherry Cargnino

Olga Ochoa

Olga shares the love of Christ and a welcome all who visit CCO. She’s here to support the body in communicating all upcoming events.

Her family has attended Calvary since 2006. She says it’s a great place to fellowship with other believers and grow in Christ; a great bible teaching church where Jesus is the focus.

Her hobbies are enjoying the events of her five children, crafts, and sweet fellowship at bible study.

Eric Larsen

Eric wears many hats. He oversees Calvary’s own low-power FM radio station, Worship 101 Radio, as well as the Cross Reference Bookstore, and the Word from Calvary archives.

He’s attended since 1999 and says he was drawn by the teaching of God’s Word.
His hobbies are music, reading, studying the Bible. He gets to include these in his work at CCO.

Nancy Miller

children's ministry assistant

Nancy assists Sharon in various aspects of Children’s Ministry from Nursery through Elementary age. She equips the volunteers with resources and assistance so they can teach their classes. Nancy has been a part of the CCO Team since 2009.

She says, “What I love about Calvary is all the ministries we have for people. And teaching through the Bible like we do is so important.”

Nancy is a real servant. She loves to help others and does so with a warm smile. She enjoys watching movies with her husband.  But her special delight is her two grandchildren and three daughters.
