JHM TRADITIONS
Introduction
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the official Junior High Ministry family! JHM is here to come alongside your family and help you to explore what God has in store for each youth in this season of life. Our mission is to disciple your student in biblical truth and direct them to practice their God given gifts to prepare them for the present and the future.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Don Baughn and I am the new JHM Ministry Director. Prior to this position, I taught music, mostly at the junior high level, for 35 years upon my retirement in 2020. My wife Monica and I have been married now for 32 years. We have three adult children and four grandchildren. We have been attending CCO for twenty-one years as of this October and it has been a life-changing journey for both of us and we have been blessed beyond measure! I have been serving on the worship team for twenty years and my wife has been serving in the Food Pantry every Friday for several years now as well. We also taught Sunday School together at our church we belonged to in my hometown of Modesto. We have been volunteering for two years in JHM prior to my hiring as the director and are REALLY excited to serve CCO in this capacity alongside some outstanding volunteer leaders.
I have had the distinct pleasure to know or meet most of you already and am excited to meet those of you I have not met yet in person. For those of you who have yet to send your 6th-8th grade student to JHM yet, I would like to encourage you to bring them here upstairs in the Family Building. We have a great time learning together and have fun doing so! I have placed an attachment of our “Traditions” we engage in here in JHM and encourage you to read this at your leisure. If you have any questions about our ministry, please feel free to contact me here at: [email protected]
To support our ministry and to encourage our youth to grow spiritually, we ask that all parents/guardians to do the following:• Pray for your children daily and ask God to guide and direct them to grow in their faith
• Pray for the leaders, teachers, and volunteers in the Family Ministry
• Encourage your children to show their adoration and love for our Lord and Savior
We meet every Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:30 and every Sunday EXCEPT for the 4th Sunday of each month from 9:00 – 10:05. Please be prompt in picking up your student in the JHM room on Sundays and in the downstairs lobby on Wednesdays. There is NO JHM on the 4th Sunday of each month to encourage them to attend church in the sanctuary next door with their families.
I look forward to getting to know more of you and your family in the future. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
Blessings,
Don Baughn
