Our dream is for every young woman who experiences an unplanned pregnancy to have a safe church to turn to for healing, hope and help in the oxnard/ventura/camarillo area.
JOIN THE
1 in 4 pregnancies ends in abortion – and the abortion rate is the same inside the church as it is outside. Having an unplanned pregnancy can be scary and many who experience one feel completely alone. Fear and shame can lead women (including moms with kids already) to make abortion decisions they eventually regret, which triggers more fear, shame, and trauma.
"But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God."

At this time, we're preparing to launch our 12-week support group on February 13, 2024.

VOLUNTEER ROLES
As you read through the current volunteer descriptions, we encourage you to pray about where God wants you to serve. Thank you in advance for everything you give to this special ministry.
Our volunteer slots are for the February-April 2024 semester. You can continue to serve in your same role each semester, or you can try something different each time!

DINNER & SNACKS TEAM
Each week of the support group, we will have a light dinner available for our Brave Girls because we want them to feel as at home as possible! If you love to make people feel welcomed and cared for in this way, check out our Meal Train page to sign up to donate a light dinner and/or refreshments for one or several of our weekly meetings!

EVENTS DAY-OF TEAMS
We have two main celebration events for our Embrace Grace support group: the Baby Shower & Princess Day! We want to go BIG for our Brave Girls and make sure they know how valued and celebrated they are by God and His family. This team will work together on the day of the event to set up, serve, and tear-down.

Do you love doing your hair & makeup and/or others' hair & makeup? We have a special surprise day for our Brave Girls on Saturday, April 20th that we want your help for! *Makeup, supplies, hair tools, etc. will all be provided.

HOSPITALITY SERVE TEAM
Is acts of service one of the ways you like to show love to others? Then this might be for you! Each week of the support group, we will have a light dinner available for our Brave Girls because we want them to feel as at home as possible. Our hospitality team will arrive at 5:45pm to help set the dinner table, serve dinner, and make sure everything gets cleaned up and put away by 6:45pm. *Depending on number of volunteers, this may become an every other week commitment instead of weekly.

INTERCESSION/PRAYER TEAM
We believe this is the most important aspect of our ministry, and so we are looking for anyone willing to commit to praying regularly and specifically for the different facets of the Embrace Grace ministry (i.e., the Brave Girls, the babies, specific situations, etc.) Each week, you will receive prayer requests either via email or group text. Personal attendance to weekly meetings is not required, although we do ask that you stay connected with the Prayer Team Lead.

MAMA-HELPERS TEAM (*As needed)
Sometimes our expectant mothers have young children. While the support group is not available for kiddos to participate in, we want them to be able to come to the meeting with mom, who otherwise would not be able to attend. You and least one other Mama-Helper will be in a nearby kid-friendly classroom equipped with toys on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-end (usually by 8:45pm) to help our young friends have an enjoyable time while mama is being ministered to. *LiveScan check is required to serve in this area, with $20 to be reimbursed by Calvary Chapel Oxnard. If you are already serving at CCO in a role for which LiveScan is required, another check is not needed.

MENTOR to BRAVE GIRLS
If you feel called to become an Embrace Grace mentor, we ask you to commit to coming every week. It is important for the young women (we call them Brave Girls) to feel safe, like they can open up each week as they get to know us. We have many leaders in Embrace Grace who attend each week, but we want to be careful not to have more leaders than attendees. Because of this, we may not know if there is an opening to lead until closer to the beginning of the semester. If you feel like God is putting this on your heart, the prerequisites are that you are a member of our Church and have fulfilled all the necessary requirements to be a group leader. THANK-YOU TEAM
This role writes thank you notes as needed throughout the semester. Examples: guest speakers, large donations, vendors who donate time or items for events. Also oversee the Brave Girls writing their thank you notes after the baby shower and collecting them to distribute.

TRANSPORTATION TEAM (*As needed)
In case we have a mama who is in need of transportation to the meetings, we would like to have some friends of Embrace Grace on standby. If you are usually available on Tuesdays between 5:30pm-6:30pm and would be willing to pick up our Brave Girl to drive her to Calvary Chapel Oxnard, we would greatly appreciate your help! *Female drivers only or husband & wife couple both present, please.

GROUP HISTORIANS
If you enjoy taking photos and capturing special moments on video with your phone or digital camera, then join the team! If you know your way around Facebook and Instagram too, we need you! Embrace Grace provides pre-designed graphics and captions to help keep the newsfeeds fresh and updated. In addition- this role also adds the Brave Girls to the church’s private Embrace Grace Facebook group, updates statuses in the Facebook group and promotes the baby shower. Help us document the goodness of God this season! *Requirements: be present for the first hour of at least six Tuesday meetings and both special event days on Saturday, April 20th & 27th.
